Petra Schäfter

Petra Schäfter was born in 1964. After completing graduate studies in political science and law she worked for several years as a research assistant for a law project at the Humboldt University in Berlin before taking the step to become self-employed as a freelance editor.

Her areas of expertise are the social sciences and law, as well as modern history. In addition to her work on documentation projects, legal case collections, and commentaries, Petra edits scholarly dissertations and theses for publication.

She has worked for various academic publishing houses including the De Gruyter Rechtswissenschaften Verlag, Campus Verlag, and the Berliner Wissenschafts-Verlag (formerly Berlin Verlag Arno Spitz). She continues to find new reasons why she likes living in Berlin and especially enjoys trans- and interdisciplinary reading.
