Verena Mayer was born in 1972 in Vienna. She completed a graduate degree in theater studies, German studies, and history and was a court reporter for the Berlin pages of the daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Verena writes reports, features, reviews, and feuilletons for newspapers and books, and the "trial" column every Thursday in the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper. She lives in Berlin and Vienna.
